Unforgettable Moroccan Expedition – Explore the High Atlas Mountains with Momo Excursions in 22 Days :

Day 1:

Arrival in Marrakech

Welcome to the enchanting city of Marrakech! Upon your arrival at the airport, Momo Excursions will be there to warmly greet you and arrange your transfer to a beautiful Riad or 4-star hotel in the heart of the Medina.

The rest of the day is yours to unwind and explore this vibrant city at your leisure.
DAY 2:

Journey to Bougmez Valley

Embark on an epic adventure as Momo Excursions leads you to the central High Atlas and the picturesque Ait Bougmez Valley.

After a scenic 2-hour walk and a delightful picnic, we’ll set up camp near the Ait Imi pass, surrounded by breathtaking vistas.
DAY 3:

Tighremt Ait Ahmed

As the sun rises, we’ll trek across the Tizi n’Ait Imi pass at 2900m above sea level, granting you stunning views of the M’goun line and the Happy Valley.

Our camp for the night will be near Tighremt Ait Ahmed, an ancient citadel that once controlled the caravan trade routes.
Day 4:

Ascend to Azib Timratine

Today, we’ll ascend the first summits of the Mgoun chain, passing through beautiful pastures and the Tizi-n-Tanout pass.

Our camp will be set up at the Timratine sheepfolds, the base camp for Mgoun, offering a serene mountain setting.
DAY 5:

Climbing Mgoun Summit

A thrilling day awaits as Momo Excursions leads you on a safe ascent of Jebel M’Goun via the less-traveled north ridge.

Reach the summit at 4068m and descend along the west ridge before camping on the picturesque plateau of Tarkeddit.
DAY 6:

Descent to Azib Imi'n'Ikkiss

Descend through the Wandras gorge, following the path of Assif Tassaout.

Traverse the Tizi Asdrem pass to reach the middle valley of Tessaout and Tasgainwalt, where a scenic picnic awaits. Settle into our camp at the high sheepfolds of Imi-n-Ikkiis.
Day 7:

Journey to Megdaz

Descend along the right bank of the Tassaout, passing through charming villages like Ichbakken before reaching the beautiful village of Megdaz. Explore the area’s unique Berber culture and architecture before settling into our camp for the night.
DAY 8:

Tizi Megdaz to Tifardzine

Embark on a scenic hike to the Tizi Megdaz pass, revealing breathtaking vistas.

Continue towards the azibs Tagoukht and enjoy a relaxing picnic near a stream. Journey to the highlands of Ait M’goun and camp at Tifardzine.
Day 9:

Trek to Lake Anoghnar

Discover arid landscapes as you cross the southern slope and approach sub-Saharan terrain.

Climb to Mt. Anoghnar (3700m) for a rewarding view before descending to the blue lake, where you’ll camp amidst the beauty of nature.
DAY 10:

Descent to Tighouza

Descend through a wadi adorned with oleanders, opening up to the upper valley of Ounila.

Admire the beauty of fortified villages protecting ancient trade routes. Settle into a homestay in Tighouza for a well-deserved rest.
DAY 11: Leisure Day in Ounila Valley

Enjoy a relaxing day at a comfortable guest house in the heart of the Ounila Valley.

Use this time to rest, freshen up, and prepare for the next leg of the journey with Momo Excursions.
DAY 12:

Tizi Titdri to Afra

Descend through the valley from village to village, passing by the majestic fortress village of Annemiter.

Cross the Tizi N’Tichka lock to reach the wild Zat Valley. Meet a new team of muleteers in Afra and camp in the upper Zat Valley.
DAY 13:

Descent to Warzazt

Descend through the lesser-visited valley to Azgour village, known for its rich pastoral traditions.

After a picturesque picnic, ascend to the Yagour plateau and camp near the last village of the valley.
Day 14:

Yagour Plateau to Azib Amddouz

Trek through the captivating landscapes of Yagour, observing ancient engravings and the traditional transhumance of the Berbers.

Camp near the Azib Amddouz sheepfolds amidst this remarkable setting.
DAY 15:

Yagour to Setti Fatma

Cross the Yagour plateau, then descend Setti Fatma’s gorges, occasionally wading through the refreshing waters.

Pass by charming villages hung on the mountainside before arriving at the village of Timichi for the night.
DAY 16:

Timichi to Agadir Ait Boulmane

Ascend to the Tizi n’Tamaterte pass, offering incredible views of the Imnane valley.

Journey through terraced crops and adobe houses, eventually reaching the village of Agadir Ait Boulmane. Set up camp at the entrance of the gorges.
Day 17:

Final Descent to Imlil

Embark on a thrilling trek through the Setti Fatma gorges, with the lush valley of Ourika greeting you at the end.

Explore the picturesque villages and terraced crops before arriving at the village of Imlil. Transfer to a Riad with a pool for a well-deserved rest.
DAY 18:

Relaxation in Imlil

Spend the day relaxing by the pool and exploring the charming town of Imlil, the gateway to the Toubkal massif.

This day is for refueling and preparing for the upcoming Toubkal climb.
DAY 19:

Trek to Neltner Refuge

Begin the ascent to the base camp of Mount Toubkal, surrounded by a mineral landscape.

Reach the Neltner Refuge at 3200m, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 20:

Summit Toubkal and Descend to Imlil

Early in the morning, start the thrilling climb to the roof of North Africa – Mount Toubkal (4187m).

Experience the breathtaking views from the summit before descending to the valley of Imlil. Arrive at your Riad for a well-deserved rest.
DAY 21:

Leisure Day in Imlil

Enjoy a leisurely day in Imlil, taking in the beauty of the surroundings and reflecting on the incredible journey with Momo Excursions.
DAY 22:

Departure from Marrakech

After an unforgettable adventure in the High Atlas, Momo Excursions will arrange your transfer to Marrakech Airport for your onward journey.

Bid farewell to this magical land, taking with you cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
